Having heard many ... Having heard many renditions of this song, this is one of my favorites as Lorrena McKennitt has not only a beautiful voice but a way of putting a lot of feeling into her work. I have heard choral arrangements of this in several languages, including Gaelic and I have loved? them all. Diversity and the individual renditions take nothing away from this song. It is a classic and this version is really quite nicely done.

@Naruto Do your ... @Naruto Do your homework and research the history of The Coventry Carol. The oldest manuscript of the text burned in 1875. Therefore, modern variations of the text draw from one of two transcriptions from earlier in the 19th? century. Just because your choral master has you perform the song one way, does not deem that the only way to be performed. There are several variations of this song. Dig deeper next time before you criticize another musician and claim your way to be the right way.

Actually, I have ... Actually, I have heard? people from LaFayette sing. They're usually pretty... terrible. Ignore this all you want. I agree with the ... I agree with the others, Naruto -- I'm an experienced and trained choral singer of 30+ years and there are many, many ways and interpretations of singing any piece. I don't find that she sings it too? fast; I do find that some of the words are unfamiliar to me, but that does not make her incorrect, just different. Educate yourself so that you don't come across ignorant in the future.
b***h, she can sing ... b***h, she can sing it however? she pleases. Her voice is probably way better than yours, anyway.

After all, professional musicians are allowed to change the tempi of songs, and people pronounce words differently depending on where they? live. Lorena is Canadian and is of Irish ancestry, so she has her own way of pronouncing things. As, I'm sure, they do in Coventry. It isn't clear cut right or wrong.
